Here's using the Red Hippo fabric to make a bottle thermal bag. I use a thick batting to ensure the milk stays warm, like the bottle thermal bag you can buy from any baby store or section in the supermarket. This customer uses this when she fetches her son from half day nursery, so his baby can drink milk in the car on the way home. And, it's custom order for a 9oz Avent bottle. It can be kept easily if not in used, which makes it easy storing unlike those hard plastic one.

Ipad Sleeve - received Casing!

The PU casing for the Ipad I've been waiting, after my e-purchase early this month has finally arrived. I bought this item from Deal Extreme together with other items, and 1 of the item no stock, that's why wait so long! But once order confirm it takes quite fast to arrive! The brown color is nice, so won't get dirty so easily.

It fits nicely on the Ipad. You can also use it if it's Ipad2 as it actually comes with the hole for the camera (behind not shown). It also has a stand so you can watch movie as well.

And, most important it fits into the Ipad Sleeve that I've made. Phew! I just worry.... it won't fit!

Drawstring Pouches

These are 2 drawstring pouches that I have completed last weekend (including on Monday - some finishing touches). I used the Ballerina Korean Linen fabric which comes in a few pattern, so I can choose either big or small ballerina.

Both pouches are different, let me explained ya!

For the 1st pouch, I used the smaller ballerina and the red line on the base. Between the ballerina and red lines, I've sewn lace. It also comes with just 1 handle, and using ribbon as the drawstring.

As for the 2nd pouch, I've chosen the big version ballerina, comes with 2 handle and uses theh lining fabric as the drawstring.

Ipad Sleeve

Here's a Ipad sleeve that sewn lately. It's to keep the Ipad when not in used, as well as waiting for my purchase to arrive. I've purchased this Ipad from Deal Extreme, which is actually a good buy (hopefully) but have to wait for up to 6weeks for delivery. Sigh!!

Here's the preparation to make an Ipad sleeve. Actually, it's already half way thru then only I took the photos. Nvm, still can show ya! There's the Cotton Tape 2cm pink color, which I think matched quite nicely with the Red Hippo Fabric. I used a rather thick batting to prevent shock, in case it falls down...with children, you never know! Then also buttoned up with a magnetic snap.

The lining I used a fabric from loooong time ago, which is thick...just what I'm looking for, makes it really 'shock-proof'!! Shown below is the finish product. So, this size will fit the Ipad protector cover when it arrives, in the meantime I will use it to keep the Ipad.

Isn't it cute, my daughter demo how she carries it. Fits nicely for her (as well as adult, with the strip slightly longer).

Please excuse her drinking... hard to get her to model for me. :-)

Lunch Bag

I've been busy last weekend finishing up this "lunch-bag" handbag during the weekend. Why am I naming it lunch-bag handbag? Well, every bag serves a purpose, a weekender bag, diaper bag, tea bag, b'fast bag, etc! This is a small, but just enough space to take out when you are going out for a lunch at work.

It's made using Japanese Cotton Linen with Korean linen lining. This bag has a pocket and a zip.

Both side of the bag are in different pattern, due to fabric pattern placement. I will show you both side.

And, here's the other side.

Finally the pocket, which can fit a phone and tissue packet.

My brother went to Singapore again... this year. Hmm, I think he just went last year, ya? Oh, I just checked...it's actually early this year. That time, he bought a scarf for me, which until now I haven't use yet. Too nice too use actually!

But, this time he bought me something for my house! It's very easy to bring back, coz it's a flat piece, like paper actually!

So, what is it? It's a flower pot! Yap, awesome!! I was quite impressed. Comes with some simple instruction which I think rather easy... but I will just wait till my children slightly bigger coz now NO DECO within reach of the children in the house. This vase will not break, but water can spill.

That's all I want to share today...

My smocking ...FINALLY finished!

When I said finished, I mean... completed smocking and embroidered the flowers. I still need to have it tailor. Seems like long process, ya? Sad to say...it's my fault! I have not been strict with myself... keep delay and delay. But yesterday evening, after putting my son to sleep for his afternoon nap, I took it out and completed it! Yeap.... it's actually quite fast, just.... u know why. ;-)

It's a white piece, so you can use it as a flower girl dress. But, anything in white, children look so pure in it, don't you agree? My offer still the same, RM100 for this dress (inlusive tailoing cost as well and...erhm, oklar, posting too!)

I also had some time to do this - fabric button! I got this cool button tool online about a month ago, and just did 2! Experiment only... now I have to either dig out my fabric or get more! Opps, this means more shopping!!!

Lovely Hearts Smocking Piece

Here you go! At last, I have taken a photo and upload to my blog (phew). I was also checking around with my smocking gang, what color should I use to make the daisy flowers. The flowers will go on the zig-zag smocking in the center of the dress. A friend suggested violet or maroon. Another friend suggest using orange, blend in? Hmm.... I'm still deciding, blend in or stand out?

Any takes for this dress, then I can sew the flowers to your liking? :-) RM100 for the whole dress...

If no takes, then I will have to decide.... hmm....

Smocking Dress..past update

This the smocking piece that I previewed, eh... 4 months ago in my blog. Sigh... so sorry, I didn't update on this smocking piece.

It was ready about 2 months ago, same time with the blue checkers smocking dress. Do take a look at the tailoring... completed with satin ribbon at the hem of the skirt as well as a really huge bow ribbon at the back.

This was sold to .... my oversea friend who happens to be in town. I showed her the dress and she just loved it!

And now, I'm halfway into my new smocking dress, this time called "Mimosa Love". I just love to create new names for my smocking dresses. The piece above is called "Satina" - as it uses satin ribbon!

This new piece is smocked on a white fabric, using pastel color DMC threads. There will be some embroidery flowers. Once smocking and embroidery completes, I will post on it. That's all for now!

I have been delaying posting on this Felt Creation final blog piece, even though I have finished sewing them 2 weeks ago. After I had posted on this pink color felt creation piece, where I was doing half way, I got so busy and tight up with other things, including 'kenduri masuk rumah'.

I guess I better complete posting on this felt creation, else it's like a 'hanging story', no end. Hehe...

Handmade Smocking Sun dress

This my new smocking piece, just completed tailoring last week! My tailor quite efficient... but diam diam she does it. Suddenly she called me, "It's ready!" Haha... This is a really nice sun dress for children! Very cooling to wear as this is 100% cotton, and not too heavy cotton. My daughter also has the similar cloth dress. She loves wearing it!

This sun dress smocking pattern is not the same as above. This one is called 'Love Duet' as it has Heart shapes on the center. And, this is the 1st time I'm using satin ribbon to make the flowers. I learned it online from u-tube! E-learning nowadays... LOL

What's so special about this dress is that it opens up... like a shirt, but from behind. You remove the 2 buttons...and it O-P-E-N-S up! Get it? Hmm...

And... my tailor also use pretty flower button for this dress! I simply love it. Do you? This sun dress is suitable for girl age 3-4 years old. I will take photo of the full dress and measure it. Coz.... I need to iron it first.

Souvenir from my friend who just returned from Japan. I would love to travel to Japan one day, but receiving her souvenir for now is good enough, especially my friend is so thoughtful to buy something that I like - craft stuff! She said this was at the button section, and thought it was button! It's actually not buttons... hehe, but flowers that you can sew onto dresses. Just lovely, ya!

Actually, I need a bit of HELP here... you can help me translate this Japanese words? Update update... on my felt creation set. I'm finished my Orange set.

Now I'm working on the dark pink set. The coin purse nearly done. This time, I used heart shape buttons. All the Felt Creation I used different button designs. Oh yeah, forgot to mentioned that these Felt Creation are double stitched. First I place the felt right side together, then sew. After that, turn it over and stitch again. So, the stitches are strongER. :-) Can 'tahan' longer.

Here's how you can tie the neck scarf, in 2 styles:-

Sophisticated Neck Rosette: Perfect with a suit or blouse, this one might take a few tries at first.

1. Place the middle of the scarf at the back of your neck so the ends are in front.
2. Start twisting each end over the other until you create a tight 'rope' that is rolling on itself.
3. Allow the scarf to create a small twist at the neck and wrap the 'rope' around itself to create the rosette.
4. Tuck the ends behind and under the scarf around your neck to hold it in place.
5. Allow the ends to fan out as an accent.

Mid-Length Neck Scarf: To complete an outfit and add a slimming length to your look, tie one jauntily around your neck.

1. Place the middle of the scarf at the back of your neck so the ends drape in front.
2. Take both ends, knot and pull the knot up to your neck.
3. Optional: fluff some of the fabric over the knot so that the fabric covers the knot.
4. Optional: Pull the knot to the side of your neck.

Cute in Blue Checkers Smocking Dress

My smocking dress which I smocked without having it pleat - my 1st! You use the boxes as guide and it's quite easy except for during the start of each line, I get slightly confuse as to whether I should sew up or down. :-)

Somehow, I managed to get it all done. First and last 2 rows I used the light blue thread and those in the middle is using white thread. And, this is the dress after tailoring completed. It's a spaghetti strip dress, airy to wear for little kids. At the bottom of the dress, elegant lace is attached. On the back, there is stretchable rubber band so that this beautiful dress can later be worn as a blouse with a tights. The stripe has a knot each which you can un-knot as your child grows.

Last night I started on the FOC matching fabric hair accessory. I'm still thinking, whether to make into headband like in the Zig zag Trendy or attach hair clip on it. For the hair accessory, I used the similar fabric as the dress and add white satin ribbon, making it 2 layer. I am also still thinking what to put in front.... either a button or ??? Any suggestion, will be very helpful.

So 2 questions I have:-
1) Headband, hair clip or??

2) In the center of blue ribbon, place button or other suggestion?

Update on 14-May: Finally completed with the matching flower dress. Photos taken and do check out the animation I posted above.

Scarf and sneak preview of my new smocking piece

My brother went down south to Singapore and spend 3 days there during the CNY. Look what my thoughtful brought back for me? It's a leopard spot scarf from the Night Safari. And... it's HANDMADE! Yeap... the lable mentioned that. I think that's why my brother bought for me.... so thoughtful hor?

This item is 'Not for Sale', but I wanted to share and show you all. It would be great to receive handmade stuff from other countries. It also trigger us... and give us ideas, don't you agree? ;-) That's all for today.... I'm still completing my smocking piece, nearly done...just left some embroidery flowers. This piece sure has lots of bullion roses and rosebuds! Sure it's a challenge!!

Here's a peak preview of my smocking piece... it will sure look lovely either as a smocking dress for a small girl or maybe a skirt for myself! I am still deciding on that... Yeap... smocking can be done for almost anything, even adult clothing. But, you have to quite small size like me...such as this smocking dress made by my fren. I have a few blouse and dresses myself... didn't take any pictures of them as those were made a few years back. So, what do you think.... dress for small girl or skirt for myself?

Pleating for smocking

Pleating for smocking is available for RM1 per line. This is Custom Order, please refer to 'How to order' for order details.

I have just started on my latest smocking piece, a dress with 14 pleating rows; (including 1 top and bottom holding rows, balance 12 rows to smock.

Tip: The dress will look symmetrical if you smock from the center. Hence, you need to count the pleats and mark the center valley. Don't let your children disturb you will you do the counting, or you need to recount - like I did... a few times already!

At this moment, I don't have stock on fabric... but if you want to pleat and do smocking (really cute on young children), you will need to send your cloth over first to me.

Loopy Heart Flower for Small Girls

It's quite similar to my other Loopy Flower hairbands, just suitable for girls that don't have much hair (yet) compared to adults! I use hair band that is 3cm in diameter. And, since girls are usually dressed in red or pink, I use red and pink felt with pink buttons!
